Healthy and Energizing Green Smoothie Recipe- Low in Calories & High in Nutrients

Sometimes you need that extra boost of energy to kick start your day. You may not have time for a sit down breakfast, that doesn't mean you cant load up on nutrients and have something energizing and delicious that will make you feel great. It is full of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. After this green smoothie you will be ready to take on whatever the day throws at you and your body will thank you for all the vitamins and nutrients you are getting. Its easy to make, very healthy, alkalizing, taste delicious, and it is low in calories!

Food:

  • All ingredients should be organic
  • About 2 cups of Kale
  • Filtered Water
  • 1 Small Banana (can be frozen if you'd like)
  • 1 Green Apple
  • Matcha- Depending on your caffeine preference 1 tsp- 2 tsp
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Tbs of Chia Seeds

Tools:

  • Blender
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small hand held juicer (link here)
  • Measuring spoons- 1 Tsp and 1 Tbs

Begin by thoroughly washing everything. Once everything is nice and clean add just the kale to the blender, then add about 2 cups of water. The measurements don’t have to be exact but you want about half of your kale to be covered in water. Now blend until the Kale is completely liquefied. Doing this first ensures you don't end up with any chunks of kale in your smoothie and that all ingredients can be thoroughly liquefied.

Now chop the apple into slices small enough to be blended, and add them to the blender , then mix again. Then add your banana and mix.

Juice your lemon and pour the juice into the blender. Now add your matcha and chia seeds. Give your smoothie one final blend.

Serve in a chilled glass jar/ cup, or if your on the go like I usually am pour it into a to go bottle. And there you go, you have the perfect green smoothie! It is so good for you, and packed with nutrients your body craves and needs, especially in the morning. You will feel amazing after drinking it and it also helps that it taste sooo good!
